Dress you up, Rome

I’d like to see, insight the twilight of civil sparks

I’d like to walk, cover the flakes of ancient relics

I’d like to touch, feel the heat of dormant hearts

Then I came to Rome…

You’ve got style, that’s what all the girls say

Satin sheets and luxuries so fine

All your suits are custom made in Roma

But I’ve got something that you’ll really like

I was there with suits and a cross on my breast. You were smiling waiting for me. A piece of blush on your face turned me rose. On Piazza Venezia, I fell in love with you at the first sight.

No eleganza for me, I’m from the 21st century. Blue jean jacket on me while you were in the same color but in a classic air. The second day, it was on the peak of Villa Borghese.

In the evening, I was waiting you in a shadow. Water streamed down from the fountain, pigeons settled down on the square. Time went by, so slowly. Where were you? Not in the Pantheon.

Then…

You couldn’t feel the silky touch of my caresses;

I wouldn’t  keep you looking so brand new;

You couldn’t cover me with velvet kisses;

I wouldn’t create a look that was made for you

Never mind, because…

Following the hint you left, I met Bernini at Piazza Navona. He told me the anecdote with Girolamo Rainaldi. Off to Vaticano, through the gate, I witnessed the reveal of the Virgin Mary from Michelangelo’s hands. To the south, Luigi Poletti put on robe, standing like a statue in Basilica San Paolo fuori le Mura. I didn’t see you bur your friends.

Nonetheless you haven’t shown up, it was still clear how pretty you are. I would like, I’d like to

dress you up in my love

all over all your body

in my love

all over all over

from your head down to your toe

人们认识米开朗基罗,却并不知道他是圣伯多禄大殿的总设计师,而大殿内的圣母像是他在梵蒂冈内唯署名命的作品;

人们熟悉巴罗克,却不知道巴洛克的的杰出典范是贝尼尼,圣伯多禄大殿内部的华盖便是他的杰作,市中心的一个广场也是以他命名;
